Engineers who design for production

Absolute Electronics Engineering designs electronic products in Addison, Illinois — hardware, firmware, PCB layout, and test in one team, from first concept to production release.

Who we are

Absolute Electronics Engineering is an electronic product design firm in Addison, Illinois. We design the electronics inside commercial and industrial products — system architecture, circuit design, PCB layout, firmware, and test — and carry that work through prototyping into production.

Every discipline a product needs sits in one team: hardware, firmware, PCB layout, mechanical integration, and test. Most product failures happen at the boundaries between those disciplines — a connector the enclosure cannot accept, firmware that assumes a pin the schematic reassigned. When the same team owns all of it, those seams get engineered instead of discovered.

Everything we deliver is yours to keep: native design files, source code, test procedures, and the records to maintain them. The service pages describe the technical work in enough depth to judge us by, and a single project is enough to test how the model works.

What working with us is like

Designed for manufacturing

Every board we design is headed for a production line, and the output shows it: components chosen with real availability, footprints an assembler can place reliably, test points where a fixture will need them. Design-for-manufacturing is a design input from the first schematic, not a review stage bolted on at the end.

One accountable partner

The usual model splits a product across a hardware consultancy, a firmware shop, and a layout bureau, and the seams between them are where schedules slip and accountability dissolves. Here one team owns the schematic, the layout, the firmware, and the test plan — a build issue has exactly one phone number attached to it.

Honest scoping, honest status

We quote what we believe and flag risk where we see it, including the times the right answer is a smaller project than you asked for. Mid-project, you get real status: what works, what does not yet, and what changed. No big reveal, no surprise in week twelve.

Documentation you actually own

Every engagement ends in native design files, source code, and the records to maintain them — not a PDF export that holds your own product hostage. If you never work with us again, you are fully equipped to go elsewhere. We would rather earn the next project than lock it in.

Three ways to engage us

The right structure depends on how well-defined the work is and whose team leads it.

Project-based

A defined scope, a milestone schedule, and a deliverable package. Where the scope is genuinely definable we quote fixed price; where discovery is part of the work, we say so and propose time-and-materials with a cap instead of pretending certainty we do not have.

Team augmentation

Our engineers work inside your team, on your tools and your cadence, billed on time and materials. The usual reasons: a discipline you lack for one project, or a schedule your own bench cannot absorb.

Join at any stage

Plenty of projects arrive mid-flight: a design that needs rescue, a layout that needs finishing, a shipped product that needs sustaining. We audit what exists, report the state it is in, and pick the work up from there.

What we do

The scope we take on, end to end.

  • Electronic product design: hardware, PCB layout, firmware, HMI, mechanical, and test — through production
  • Rescues, redesigns, reverse engineering, and sustaining work on existing products
  • Board- and product-level engineering that integrates cleanly with your app and cloud teams
